What is the STOCK rear shock spring rate on a '06 YZF 450?

5.1kg or 5.3kg

My service manual says 5.5

Yes that is for 06. And my bike is U.S.A.

5.5 is a good rate for the 185-210 range...finally a bike that is suspended for us older kids! Sorry youngsters :applause:

Ti springs (the '06 has one, remember) behave a little differently than steel. The 5.5 kg/mm rate on the '06 might pretty much equate to the 5.3 of the '03. I doubt that Yamaha has changed their target rider weight very much.
