Don't tell the DRZ guys this, but....

I've been looking for a used WR for desert riding and want to start doing enduros (someone has to finish last!) I've been looking at WRs because the YZ is an mx bike.

But tonight, I came across an ad for a '00 YZ426 for $2900.

What would I lose/gain going with a YZ vs. a WR, and vice versa.

So Hairlip, your getting rid of the gay DRZ?

The older WR's are easier to YZ then to WR the older YZ's.
In your area you would rater the WR's wider ratio tranny.

What bamster said! Would be more effort offroading a YZ then tidying up a WR.

Good luck on your enduro's, remember you won't be last if you stick to yamaha!
Other bikes tend to break down! :applause:

Put a Reckluse in that YZ and proper gearing, 14/52, and you're good to go. :applause: (not counting skidplate, rad protection, bark busters...etc.)

Depending on how much you weigh, the heavier springs of the YZ might even be good for your size, considering that the stock springs are usually set up for a 170 pound guy.

So you are finally getting a real bike huh?

Get the WR because its going to cost you an arm and a leg to get the YZ to make the tractable power you need in the woods. Those things (pre 03) are freakin savages

Unfortunately Im about 2 years from buying a real bike :applause:
