My neighbors 03 yzf450 started making very loud tick noise today from the topend. When I heard it I figured it was a bent valve or piston hitting valve. We tore it down and everything looked OK except all his intake valves were at 0 clearance. Could tight valves make that much noise? :applause:
thanks

OMG! We pulled the cylinder off and the wrist pin was sticking half out!. It looks like c-clip wore out its seat and jumped down into the crank case. He had installed a weisco 13.5:1 a few months ago so I'm guessing this was caused by human error.
