650R Throttle Tube Question

Okay, now that you guys have decided that Spider grips or Pro Grip are the best :applause: . . . .

Is it just me, or does the stock throttle tube on the 650R have a ridge that gets in the way of the grip? The OEM grips had a lip that fit over the ridge, but I haven't seen any aftermarket grips that have the lip.

I thought I'd be sneaky and just replace the throttle tube with a Motion Pro version (not alumninum) -- surprise, it also has the ridge.

Now, if used handguards that attached to the bar end I'd just trim off the end of the grip, but I don't, so the extra 3/8" just flops around and gets beat up.

Am I the only one????

PS: Spider grips for me. :bonk:
