I own an 04' myself, thought about getting the Gytr but heard that other aftermarket systems were better. I went with the DR. D and am happy with it (much cheaper too). If you think about it, the White Brothers system is what the factory Yamaha team uses over their own performance label.

I have the GYTR pipe on my 05 YZ450F. I like it alot. Power is nice and smooth and it has a kick ass sound when you roll on the throttle.

I used to have (before it was stolen) an 04 with the Dr. D on it. Power was unbelievable on it. Real snappy. Also real throaty sound. Picture of it below.

To be honest, even though the Dr.D added power to the bike, it was almost to much. Especially because the 04's motor is so strong. My 04 came from an auction. It had motox action magazine graphics because it was one of Jody W's test bikes (from what I heard from the dealer).
Regardless of what pipe you get, one of these two should do the trick.

Your '05 looks sweet.I had a DrD on my 250f and I thought that it made the powerband too flat.It killed the throttle response.Does the GYTR affect the throttle response?Do you even think that an '04 is in need of an exhaust? On my 250f,I like the stock pipe better.

I have to agree your 05 is bad ass. Do you not ride it much. The frame hasnt even started to fade.

I put a fmf megabomb header with a pro circuit t-4 and the power and throttle response is far more than I expected, and I expected a lot, so I would recommend that settup for the 04!!!!

Not sure about the 04 250's. But the Dr D on my 04 450 was nice. Didnt have a powerband issue at all. In fact it improved from low to high rpms.
The GYTR is a nice pipe though. I really couldnt tell you the differance of the 05 stock pipe and the GYTR pipe because I had the dealer I bought it from put it on before I even brought it home. Maybe I should have waited a ride or two before putting it on. But it was there at the time so what the hell...

I've got the GYT-R off an 03, looking to sell it if someone's intrested, nice price. Keep in mind, it was used for a couple years. It's in good shape though, PM me if intrested, btw, nothing but positives to say about this exhaust.

I was just wondering if the GYTR exhaust had low-end rev like the stock one.I don't like it when the powerband is just flat from top to bottom.

I am sure that if I could ride my stock exhaust 450 to it's full potential Yamaha would put whatever pipe I wanted on my factory 450!!! :applause:

I don't, but then again i don't ride mine anywhere near to it's potential. I put a PMB tip with SA and the quiet tip on mine to quieten it down a little and also for the SA for the woods and I'm pretty happy with it.

I usually even leave the quiet tip in there on the track to add a little more bottom end torque to it and also I don't need all of the power so I don't miss it. When I take it out it leans the bike too, and I have it dialed in pretty well the way it is.

I got the GYT-R propower slip-on muffler on the WR250, it is definately great. You guys don't seem to get the propower in USA though.

I have read pipe reviews for the '03 and the GYT-R was great:

I have a mate that has the GYT-R oval slip-on on his WR450, big improvement indeed. My neighbour has one on his YFZ450 quad too. Build quality is awesome and they work.

I got the propower one because it doesn't use straps to hold it on, the endcap looks a lot better and it was cheaper too. :applause:

Don't know about YZ but GYT-R pipes give great throttle response. It is the ramp up in tube diameter that speeds up exhaust flow.

You could always try a GYT-R slip-on with a FMF powerbomb header. FMF have them in MX (mid to top end) and SX (bottom to mid).
