 Wow, I'm beat!

The conditions at Mace Mill & Bald Mt. were fantastic! Very tacky, no dust, it wasn't even cold. We had the entire park to ourselves. We only saw 2 other riders all day, at about 3:30pm. Curt, I think we did 80 miles?

I was playing catch up all day. Oldedude & his buddy from work, Erin were FAST. I had 4 get offs all day. Stupid stuff, when I was going 3 mph. I was just so tired from chasing these guys. I did hit a tree on the Goat Trail that I'm gonna feel for a week. Slipped on a wet rock at the deep water crossing. :naughty:

That new suspension is sweet. It actually feels better when I ride the bike more aggressively.

Thanks for showing me a great day guys! You kicked my @ss!

Yeah, it was 65 miles, but it was 65 miles of perfection! :jawdrop: :worthy: :D :worthy: :jawdrop:

We pretty much covered the whole place. All the new stuff, 10, 4 (Rincon and Trestles), 9, the new part of 1, and we also did 5, 5-1, the deep water crossing, the rock lobster, the goat trail. About the only thing we didn't do was the flume trail, and the climb up 1 up from the south to Bald Mountain. :ride:

I think I got a couple of pics of Slyko, but I only took the camera out twice, and Aaron was in front of me all day so no pics of him. If they turn out okay I'll post them tomorrow.

It was a great day, beat the hell out of workin' (SUCKERS! :p ). Thanks Slyko and Aaron for helping make today's ride so good.

By the way, I rode the 351 today, and I still love that bike. :D

After riding the smoker for the last few weeks I think it has made me ride a little differently, not as much of the lazy 4-stroke style, but still not aggro 2-smoke moto style either, just shifting a little more, and using a bit more clutch. Don't know if it's made me any better, or faster, but the 351 sure is fun to ride that way.

I've got it made though, I've got two bikes that are perfect for me, just gonna have to decide which one to ride every time I go. :ride:

Sounds like a good day guys. Wish I could have made it out there with you.

Oldedue, having ridden with you with the 250 and the 351 it seems to me you are constantly in attack (read kick ass quick) mode on the new steed. You have the same speed on both but you keep it pinned on the 250 the whole time which sucks for those of us who fear broken bones and don't know how to get back to the truck without you.....

Slyko,

Do tell about the tree incident. What happened?

Here are a few pics of Slyko from yesterday:

Slyko on a rocky climb on loop 5
The Deep Water Crossing - notice you can see the line across, we keep those rocks clean. I'd never noticed it that much before yesterday.
Another at the Deep Water Crossing

Here's another pic, not from yesterday's ride, but of what I keep in my garrage now:

The Twins- KTM 250 EXC Thumper and KTM 250 EXC Smoker :D

 I slept till 10:00 today. Fell asleep at 7:00pm.

I'm sore from the tips of my hair to the bottom of my feet.

That tree I hit was less than an exciting event. Going 3 mph through the goat trail, I bounced off a rock, straight at this tree. I locked up the front brake and the ground slid out from under me. Front tire went on the wrong side of the tree and I ended up doing a cross body block.

The "tree" was only about 4" around, but it wouldn't budge. I didn't break anything, but once again the chest protector comes to the rescue.

Why I try to keep up? :excuseme:

Heck, I didn't even get home until after 10:00 last night, up and working this morning by 6:30. I need to get the bike unloaded and cleaned up at lunch. If it wasn't for work I'd be ready to do it again. :p

I'm just happy to survive! I'm so outa shape. Riding once a month while doing NOTHING else to get my heart rate up. I'm just glad I didn't kill myself!

Tonight I start. 1 hour workout 3 times a week. No more donuts.

Being my own boss has its advantages, but there's noone to blame when I don't make any money.
