During this last weeks OHV "Green Sticker" grants funding meeting, the OHV commissioners once again displayed that their personal agenda got in the way of good judgement. The Eldorado National Forest submitted a grant request for trail maintenance and conservation in the amount of $100,000. Following the screening process by the OHV division, an amount of $65,000 was recommended by the OHV division using the competitive bidding process that is in place for the OHV grant cycle. That was in line with other similar grant applications. When this grant request was brought before the OHV commissioners, they gave ZERO funding. The Rock Creek OHV area is in the Georgetown Ranger district of the Eldorado National forest. This area has been a focal point of contention between the extremely pro-environmental groups and the OHV community.
