no way that piece of brass can make it into the intake ports and into the valves.. sorry aint gonna happen.

MY concern is the plate working loose, and wedging the throttle body open during a ride. HANG ON!!!!!

Yea your probably right, but a piece of epoxy could, or a piece of plastic. The aluminum and valves on these engines is pretty soft. My hat is off to Matt for the time and design that went into making the part, god knows I do not have the patience or talent do do things like that, but to risk ruining the top end of your bike for that no thank you. The thought of the throttle plate sticking open even scares me more. :applause:

I'm with Matty05 on this one. I think it's great what BigMatt did and it's nice of him to share with us what he did. The satisfaction of making your own part is much greater then buying one. Some of us even enjoy the fabrication almost as much as riding

The following thread regarding the AvNow might be of interest to some, including BigMatt. This might give you some ideas for your next version. Basically, this is a multiplate version of the JamesNow for pre-'03 carbs. Also, I believe they discuss epoxies in this thread. If not in this thread, maybe in another AvNow thread. Also, there is information regarding the theory behind the Powernow.

Here is a link to the AvNow write-up with pictures, and includes some dyno runs as well (this link is also found in the above thread).

What are the effects going to be of decreasing the size of the intake with the PVC pipe? If I remember right I think Honda just increased the size of the carberator on the CRF250 to get more low end grunt which tells me decreasing it will remove low end in favor of top end.
