Do I need to drain the oil when I unstall my new fly wheel or lean the bike ? I know the filler is on the side but I asume oil is not in the side when you remove the flywheel cover ?

Thanks, JC

It can be done two ways:
1. drain the oil and remove the left cover then swap the flywheel...
OR
2. Lay the bike on the ground (right side) to the ground then remove the flywheel cover and swap the flywheel. I would drain the gas tank or remove it so no gas spills out of the tank.

You can also run the engine for a minute and a half to pump out the sump. Then you're OK to work on it standing straight up. 'S what I do.

Unless your tank is completely full to the rim, you don't need to drain the tank to put the bike on it's side. A little bit of gas might come out the overflow hoses on the carb but that's it.
