New Cannondale

I think it's sweeeeeet looking. I love aluminum, so the aluminum frames have always intreguied me, even if honda can't seem to get theirs right. I'd love to see a price tag on one, I bet it's not cheap...

After seeing what rocks do to the frame rails of a steel from, I'd be afraid of what shape the aluminum ones would be in after a few rides. Skid plate or not. Although they're probably replaceable....

I personally think everyone should buy one. They are the best running, most reliable machine on the planet. You can rida all day...make that all week without ever having to worry about a breakdown.

Disclaimer:

This statement has absolutely nothing to do with the fact I have 200 shares of stock in Cannondale. Thank you.

That thing looks ok, but reliability is terrible. Every Cannondale owner I know is not a happy camper. For 7k/8k I would expect to completely be happy with Cannondale. I applaud more players in Motorcycling -- but these guys have a way to go. Hey older riders - remember Cam-Am, Cagiva, Rickman ------- They were the most highly technical bikes of there time. YUK!!!!

Darin, It's a good thing I didnt buy at $10.00. It looks like the 52 week low is around $3.00. Mike, the bike comes with a 3.0 gallon so it should cross the street just fine, also they claim that they have "mastered" the fuel injection sys. now, I guess im being too hopeful that they become successful and sell alot of bikes. I remember Can-am and many other funky bikes from yesteryear but KTM is definatly one of those bikes that were really rough too, but guess what happend? They are now a HUGE player and the will only get better and cheaper for the masses.(Im just hoping a good ole' American company could do just the same).

Dan, I bought at 9.5 ?

That will be the LAST time I ever read an article about "dirt bike of the year in 99" and take their word for it.

stupid magazine, (Im blaming the magazine)has got me down about $1,400 right now.

It might be 2010 before I get my money back, but Im in for the long haul.

well first they need to stop telling folks that bikes are going to be out soon and and they are new and inproved when they are not there are still a lot of problems with the bike and with the factory when you have people at the factory that are not happy and are advised not to say anything about the product for fear of being fired there is a problem there are very good people there at cannondale who want the project to work but with people in upper mangment making bad calls. It does not take 70 million dollars to build a motor cycle. When a preson in mangement tells me that we wast 30.000.oo dollars a day it makes me wonder. I was at cannondale for 7 days they flew us out there to help them out with the 2002 bikes and other problems there having. but some people there want to redesign the wheel.i say just make it roll a little better is the first step. I also think that they need to consontrate on the ATV it is making money sell as many as they can make and get the stock back up, then start working on the mx bikes it just makes dollars and sence. i must say that While i was there i meet a lot of good people. with good ideas to bad no one listens to them. sorry for the spelling and grammer i am a tech hehe!!

Does anyone know if we are going to see another Cannondale in Supercross or next year's Motocross. I would love to see more competition on the track. I guess it is part of the Detroit midwest root for the underdog mentality...Go Lions! See what I mean.

I dont think we will see a cannondale in supercross in 2002 there just not ready to go against the big 5 yet the bikes are still to heavy compared to the big 5 in motocross we will see a few but no factory teams just dealer with riders riding for them. Our team or riders were the first to have a cannondale to finish a national with nothing breaking durring the moto's but we did have a few problems.
