Anyone know what the factory gap is on the accelerator pump timing screw? Mine used to be marked from the factory but the paint is long gone :ride: I have a quickshot pump cover on my carb and it comes with that little timing guage to double check the gap. I'm not really sure if that thing is accurate though :applause: Anyways Boyseen says to leave the timing stock and I want to make sure its still set properly.

I put the boyeson cover on my 03, and set it like they said to and it ran like crap. I suggest setting it per their instructions and leave the cable cover off the carb, then warm the bike up and adjust the acc pump timing to where the engine responds best when you "blip" the throttle. It took me a little while to get the timing right. Also be aware you may need to adjust your fuel screw on the bottom of the carb too, it can affect performance near idle as well.

good luck

Yeah You think that little guage is worthless :applause: me too. Thats a good idea, I'm gonna try it out this w/end. I'm gonna leave my fuel screw at 2.5 out as a baseline. So many things to turn and adjust on 4 stroke carbs :ride:
