I love the TE610, and would not hesitate to buy one, except it lacks EFI. I am tired of dialing in jets and carb altitude sickness. In my experience, the flat-slide FCRs on the TE610 and the DR-Z400E are good for +/- 1500 ft. CV carbs are good for +/- 2500 ft. EFI is good for sea level to 13,000 ft. (I do extended off-road tours, e.g, Canadian Rockies ... to date, I've used a Strom, but that rules out single-track and the rougher dual track).

Sounds like we have a dilemna on our hands. You could spend more money and get a Husky or a Husaberg, and have a less reliable product. Does that make sense? Is it true, though? Is the Husaberg EFI?

What about that KTM 525EXC? It's supposed to be Baja-ready, isn't it? I don't see how, with that 13litre tank.

On a better note, one of the other forums mentions the possibility of a 300-350 CRF. I don't know if it is air or water cooled and whether it will be an "X" or "F" but it dosen't appear like Honda is going to abandon dirtbikes, most likely just shuffle the deck and redeal.

A new 300 four stroke is basically a non event for most in this forum, as there already is a 450 that is considered a little small and fragile for serious cross-country work. The question is what is the future for big bore off-road Honda's?

as mentioned it'l take years for honda to unload its inventory. so instead of bitchin' how would you all improve the the next version?

myself? a real subframe, one you can hang some gear, soft panniers on, maybe E start, handle bars are junk. big tanks are easy , aftermarket. the seat sucks for long haul several days of riding 350 mi days, x 3,4, etc.... in other words this bike is prett damn close, I am going to attempt to build a real subframe,
