Three of them?? That's hardly fair!!! Man, I live at the wrong end of the country. I'd like to practice the course, then try to race it, even if I came in dead last.

Some of the pro teams were actually running 4 riders per team.
Way to go Mikey. finished 1st in the 500 and the 1000 this year.

That's probably the way I'd want to start - be one guy in maybe about an 8-guy team. It's so hard, though. If you live on the east side of the continent, how could you ever get good enough to run? Even if you made it there 3 times a year, I don't think you could find a suitable place to practice all day out here. Sorry, no deserts!
(could I get some cheese with this whine??)

Not a single Husqvarna or Husaberg in the top 15. I suppose that doesn't mean anything, really. Anyone know where the Husies placed?? Were they factory sponsored?

FYI,

Robby Bell (4X) is Is Bob Bell's son. Bob is the proprietor of "Precision Concepts Racing." He is the suspension guru for team Honda and most of the other top finishers....

Congratualations to the Bell family!

Just got back from Baja :p Man was that a tough course :p Our bike got in at about 8am :ride: I did a short section from Ojos to km78 so out team owner could get a short brake before going over the summit. He dropped the bike on a hill and broke off the shift lever so we lost some time with that. Everything else went as planned but took longer than we thought. Did I say this was a tough course :p We got caught out in the dark with the stock lights in the diablo wash with the trucks passing us at 130 MPH  I picked up the bike on Mike's road about 8pm and headed over to Valley T. I saw a dead cow up by Mike's  I wounder if a truck got it? My ride was flaw less and the bike ran great but I took it slow that's why I'm here to tell about it. From what I here a lot of the bikes didn't finish but I don't have any details. Beleave it or not I passed 4 trucks and 2 buggies plus a KTM between RM435 and RM535 broke down in the rocks plus piles of fenders hoods you name it. All and all we had a good race :applause: no one got hurt and we finished, :p don't know how well yet but a finish is a win in my book. :p

Listening to the weatherman on internet was awesome.

The thing is so many DHs kept asking for status updates - he must have said 500 times "we're not doing status updates" yet people kept asking!!!

Got back from Baja today. We had a great weekend!! I helped the 250 of Tim Morton's Baja Bound (a little). They had a rear tire flat early in the day but kept hammering away and by race mile 300 they were in the lead(250 Pro class) and never looked back. They finished in 4th. bike overall. As of today, the Travis Pastrana team was DQed due to not finishing with the Ralley Tracker GPS device on their bike. It's too bad because they had a strong team and this year's course was a heartbreker for a lot of teams. The #307 team with "Surfnride" on board led class 30 all day long. The finished 3rd. bike overall.I met the crew of two brothers from Canada that were racing Solo. Both finished, the younger brother crashed with 5 miles to go,got up and made it in.Beating his older brother too! As for Irondude, well let's let him tell his story(s).I'll say this much,at app.1:00 am they loaded up the bike and called it quits.I know they had a LONG day. P.S., where and when do I get to collect my $20.00??

Just got home from the 1000... #307x finished 1st class 30, 3rd overall motorcycle.

Thanks to all our Sponsors-- Temecula Motorsports, O'neal, Precision Concepts, Maxxis, Baja Designs, FMF, there's more, thanks again...

We had a pretty clean ride, one little crash on the Mike's loop. We actually battled with 6x (pastrana-Grider-Johnson) for most of the race. They crossed the finish line ahead of me, but on adjusted time, we were ahead by about 2 minutes. The bad news is Pastrana's team was later DQ'd because their "rally tracker" (GPS unit that monitors highway speed, course cutting etc..) was missing.

This was my 10th time racing the 1000. By far this was the roughest, toughest course. Rocks, whoops, silty uphills, spectator traffic, cows, booby traps, spectators shining spotlights in my face for the last 200 miles to the finish, water hazard on the backside of a whoop, (hidden in the dark), I hit it doing about 75-80mph...lifted the front wheel, pointed my toes and held on..Soaked my right hand, boot, goggles...had to ride another hour and a half to the finish, cold wet tired....

Sounds like fun huh? It was... Everyone should try it...

p.s. didn't see a husky all week...

Thanks again to my teammates, Scott Meyers, Taber Murphy, Brian Pinard :applause:

p.s. congrats bajaboundmoto---4th OA motorcycle

Ron Wilson ---AKA surfnride
