Thanks for answering my questions. Now I'm looking for a good used RM/KX100 so I can make my own frankenstein bike. Uhm, I mean for my son.

It fits just fine.
If there is something else I didn't capture very well with the pictures, just let me know and I will try and get a better shot of it.
I am still waiting for the new carb and for decent weather.

I know the front end swap is easy, as a few of my friends have done it. But that RM100 rear end looks a little trick, especially the rear master cylinder.

I have never had good success jetting the Mikuni VM26, so I chose a Keihin PE24. I used this model of carb on another conversion project, and it worked well, so I decided to try it here.
Here is a picture of the PE24 with adapters on the input and output side.
The input side adapter was done by a machine shop. I had a few left over from my other project, so I didn't need to make another. I just epoxied it into place over the input side of the carb.
The output side adapter is just a piece of 6061 aluminum tubing with 1.375" OD and 1.245" ID. All I did was cut it to length, clean it up with a file, and epoxy it in place.
Here is what the finished carb looks like in place.
The carb is a great upgrade over stock. The 24mm has 44% more cross-sectional area than the stock 20mm. The jetting is spot on, except for a slight leanness in the pilot. I will have to go up one size on the pilot jet. The jetting is much better right out of the box than anything that I experienced with the VM26. I know that the input and output adapters seem like a bit of work, but the result is much better than the VM.

Hey dr_drz,
What jetting are you running in the Keihin?
Main, pilot, needle, needle jet, slide cutaway.
Did you get the carb from Sudco or somewhere else?
Thanks!

I got the carb from Two Brother's Racing. Not the cheapest, I know. However, the cost was about the same as all the various VM26 upgrades (from BBR, or Two Brother's or Powroll). When I find out the rest of the jetting specs, I would think that you could get one for much less from Sudco.

Main jet 108
Pilot jet 50
Throttle slide 1SC 3.0
Needle 36S
Clip 3
The needle jet had no markings. Perhaps on this carb all the needle sizing is in the needle and not the needle jet.
If these specifications don't make sense to you, don't worry. This is just a complete list of how the carb came from Two Brothers Racing.
The pilot is still a little lean. I will have to wait until the 52 comes in, to tell if that will do the trick.
Sorry about not having a ride report to share, but it is quite cold around here. I know some people like to ride in the snow, but I have found that it is merely a good way to fall down a lot.

Here are the costs for the project:
I started with a DR-Z125L with a BBR exhaust and frame cradle. I will not include prices for those. The tires on the RM100 were good, so I did not need to replace them.
2003 RM100 $1,000
Wiseco 61mm piston $110
Bore cylinder $100
Hot cams stage 1 camshaft $140
Swingarm boring $75
All Balls swingarm bearings $44
Galfer rear brake line $50
Rear 51 tooth, 428 sprocket for KX100 $55
428 chain $25
Uni air filter $18
Keihin PE24 carb $270
Carb adapters $30
That's $917, not including the cost of the RM100.

If you are thinking of using a PE24 carb, try Sudco, I think that they might be far less expensive than Two Brother's Racing, where I got mine.
