I ride a 99' XR600. Stock motor with an FMF pipe. I'm wanting to keep the temp. down in the motor.Any oil suggestions? Has anyone tried the 2cool advertised here on TT? I use the bike for Baja, etc.

Obviously the synthetic would be the way to go.

Yup, that way you can find the leaks AND blow the muffler bearing!

20-50 Mobile1 synthetic. Its amazingly resistant to heat and the trans works nicely on it too.

An oil cooler is definitely a good idea.

yeah I got an Setrab version from precision concepts - man this thing is massive but the lines themselves add like a quart of oil capacity.!!!

If you are concerend about oil heat, install all of the plumbing and cooler from an XR400R. I've seen this done. It is not hard at all.

Stay away from anything listed with MOLY in it. Not friendly on your clutch. Best bet would be a semi synthetic blend in a 20w-50. Spectro makes a great oil and you can get the same from Honda too.
