I just got off the phone with a friend. He said that he just got off the phone with Elaine from Promotopromotions and she said that they are closing Riverdale. Not just for the winter but for good. They were going to make a bunch of improvements over the winter, unfortunetly it made the insurance skyrocket. Just thought id give you a heads up.

Also at the first Woodland race of the year (saturday) the man who owns the place made an announcement that theyre selling it to a developer. Thats right woodland is going to be replaced by 262 house's. So where does that leave us in the winter now? Indoor only i guess. :bonk:

That's a shame about woodland we really look forward to that place every winter. I would have to question your buddy's info on riverdale though. The owner claims he is keeping it open thru the winter and that Elain/promotopromotions has nothing to do with the track anymore. The web site for riverdale even states they are staying open and may have some races too. :excuseme:

It sounds like the promoter -wants- to close Riverdale b/c -they- aren't making any money. At least, that's the story I've heard from others working with that particular promoter.

Why is the insurance that much more expensive at Riverdale compared to everywhere else? This is the type of questions one must ask when listening to promoters.

Boycott lying promoters and their track$.

Is riverdale a nice track? I might go there next weekend if it's too rainy to be at burnt ridge(riverdale is like 20 min past it). What sorts of jumps do they have?

I actually talked to someone who does promoting at Woodland and he said it is sold, but a few things are holding it up, one is water rights. The developer who bought the property also bought a bunch of others around and is going to be making a golf resort type. :banghead: The track will stay open at least for this season. :ride:

Riverdale has whoops a few different tables a few doubles some triples a few large step downs bout as long/longer than burntridge it's a sweet track I'd hate to see it close cause it's gonna be a good winter spot. There was suppose to be another track near morton called 5th gear pinned I don't know what happened with that. I think the site was www.5thgearpinned.com I can't remember of the top of my head right now.

Back on subject the riverdale website says they are gonna be open this weekend. But if you goto say promotopromotions website they make you beleive it's closed. I know they have thier clark county fairground stuff going on right now or very soon and they are getting involed with the test track out near cle elum www.thetesttrack.com

I personaly didnt like 5th gear pinned, but anyways it closed down. They didnt have the right permits and such. So the county closed them down. The info from woodland came strait from the owner of woodlands mouth. He said its 99% done deal. If anyone cares the deal with the housing he said was that they also bought the golf corse on the other side of the road next to the church. Half of that is gonna become houses, and half of woodland. The other half will become golf corse and there gonna have a tunnel that comes under the road and stuff. Personally I dont care about what its going to be because it wont be a motocross track. Riverdale is river bed silt/sand mixture. Its kind of technical. Alot of blind jumps. Its an alright track. But they were closing for the winter after this weekend anyways to make improvements. Like they were going to add a drag strip, asphault parking with RV hook ups, lights, and permenent bathrooms. Supposedly the improvements uped the insurance.

WOW I didnt know Riverdale had its own site. Hmm sounds like conflicting views between Dan Dale and Elaine Derrick> As far as slingers that can be extremly fun but its also pretty outlaw so dont excpect to much. I wish Burnt Ridge had winter dirt because the Foisters are extremly nice and I think its one of the nicest tracks around.

Pacific Raceways is a good winter track and their winter series just started this last sunday. I personally think thats a much better alternative than rock slingers.
