I just got back from a short ride to the coast (85 miles one way)
I made a few changes to help the highway ability.
I changeds the bars to aluminum and filled them with silicone.
Added Gel grips.
I also went to the Suzuki shop and picked up some DRZ400 S
peg inserts. I welded up a brace to bolt them up.
Then of course the standard rejet and smog stuff.
I still have the temp tags so I have not mounted the license
plate yet.
I put the bags on it before I left.
Tach/ Cylinder temp ga.
65 MPH is 4400 rpm
This bike is much better on the road then a totally stock unit
I am going to get at least a 4 gal tank

The tailight is a Maier large XR style. The bulb looks like a standard 1157.
It a normal one anyway. It has a clear licence plate window built in. I had to drill one hole under the stock mounting point and mess with the wires a little
Too short to bolt up way under the seat area, but it makes it to the side cover area. I like it because it covers all the area where the stock tailight went.
Except the two lower bolts where my plate will now be. :applause:
I ordered it and it showed up the next day. Very cool and the guy was
helpful too.

Ps- you got a good looking bike too.
What tires are you running???

It been many years but look around go-cart sites because they have upgraded
versions with many more features. I had it on my boat for a long time.
