Hello to all,

I'm heading up north to..... gulp.... the In-laws this weekend for a visit. My wife and her mother are doing their own thing on Saturday which leaves me with a free day! I want to take the bike up there with me so I can explore some new riding areas while they are out shopping.... Sooo, if anyone knows of riding areas close to Graham or Tacoma and have directions on how to get there I'd love to get that info from ya.

Thanks in advance!

Well Graham.....puts you pretty close to Evans Creek area.
Lots of real good singletrack...REAL GOOD VIEWS REAL GOOD RIDING.
That's where I would head...have to pick up a day pass for parking but it's worth the fee if you don't have a NW forest pass already...
Go to the below...might want to check out Capitol Forest also but I prefer Evans....(closer to me)

Anywho....Have fun

Evans Creek is a great place to ride. It has a good mix of jeep and single-track trails. If it's clear out, you will have some incredible views of Rainier! You can pick up a day pass at this location, it's on the way to the orv park.

I live in Graham. Oakwood is about 15 min away but I think it's flat track this weekend. South prairie isn't too far eather it's just trails/track thinng/hill climbs

Hey Joshb, where is this Oakwood at? It sounds like a track. Does it either do MX or flat track, and what are the fees to ride on it? What is South prairie by the way? And, last but not least what are some directions to these places so I can get there?

Thanks Josh

Oakwood is an indoor mx track. They have practices sat and races sund. I think next weekend is flat track though. www.oakwoodsportsarena.com It's 25 bucks

South prairie I've never been to but a lot of my friends have. Don't know where it is so can't ask me! You've also got SIR www.pacificraceways.com that's in kent and will be open Sunday if you want to race. RMC in renton (www.rentonmotorcycles.com) is a fun indoor track aswell and they're open sat and sun for all day practice (11 to 7). That's where I'll be if I'm not racing SIR.

Do any of you know where South Prarie is then since Josh doesn't? That sounds interesting.....

Thanks for all these suggestions by the way. I'm trying to get a list together of places to go so I can hit them all when we go up there.

Jeff, I have lived in South Prairie for 15 years and I am not aware of any legal riding. Josh may have been referring to Victor Falls, which is also gone now due to "Urban Sprawl". That area was south of Bonney Lake. Day passes for Evan's Creek can be purchased in Wilkeson on the way up to Evans. Good luck :ride:. One last note, there used to be an area between Wilkeson and South Prairie to ride, but this is Plum Creek Timber Co. land and they will chase you off. A good friend of mine was ticketed in there about two years ago by Wilkeson's finest for trespassing.

The "used to be" is the place they are talking about. It is sorta legal to ride, there are people there every weekend, but the neighbors get pissed. It is just a bunch of trails under the powerlines and a small track (if you call a couple of bumps in a circle a track), good for putting around, but my brother in law and I were bored after an hour. I would just drive the extra 15 minutes to Evans Creek, you will not be disappointed. BigCat and I have met up there in the past.

I know where it is, except it is between Burnette and Wilkeson. It's under neath the power lines on the right as if you were going into Wilkeson. It's got a little track, some trails and a couple of hillclimbs. It won't be to long before they shut that down too. They will be building houses before to long. I might head up there this weekend on Saturday. This place is nothing to write home about, that's for sure, but it's close if you just want to screw around for a couple of hours.
