K&N airfilter

Thanks for all the replies, I went ahead and purchased a uni filter. I did notice a fine dust film in the air boot with the K&N filter on. I think alot of the guys that race Baja run the K&N but they can afford to rebuild there motor after every race too!

Good move rnrdozer. I think the only placed you'd feel it is a dyno. The uni has a nice tight fit, grease the mating surface of the filter to the airbox for a better seal. I personally think the 650R airbox design is awful, but that's just me.

I've had good luck with my K&N. Last year I spent 10 months riding through Baja silt. When I returned home my filter was very dirty, but there was not a trace of dust on the intake side of the filter. I think the secret is to make sure your not cheap with the filter oil.
