I got a set of black Excel rims for my '05 WR 450 and this weekend while down in Baja I had to change a flat on the trail. Needless to say I put some real purty scratches on my new rims. What do motorcycle shops use to mount tires on black rims that dont tear up the paint on the rims?

I use a permanent black marker on my scratches. Works pretty well.

You can get plastic rim protectors that slide between the rim and the tire. THey are about 5" long. They are available from either motion pro or K&L. Tucker rocky might carry them. They work much better than duct tape wrapped around your tire irons. :banghead:
