Anyone ever check the cylinder compression on one of these things...???

Anyone have the numbers, in psig, of cylinder compression?

I should have checked this soon after I bought it, just so I would know when the rings needed to be replaced.

The best thing to do is a leakdown test. This will tell you if it's leaking, and if it's from the valves or rings. Compression should be around 180 psi, leakdown should be around 3%-10%.

i asked my mechanic and he said that if you find tdc then stand on the kickstarter it should hold your weight indefinetly. i own a 9/98 wr400 and can still put my full weight(100kg) on the kickstarter and the bike has done about 12000 km's
