This will be my first SLO ride. Is it as great as I dream its going to be?

I've been doing the ride since '94 - either putting together as a club member or riding/working as an alumi. In the past, the only 'bad' comment I've heard was about the gas line. Topping up bikes out of 55 gal drum can take awhile - hopefully, you have a large tank. The 80 (90?) mile range requirement is real. Usually they give you 1-1.5 gal @ lunch.

You will have fun - good NF trails & great private property loops.

Would you recommend this ride with a passenger?

Not if you like your passenger. There are some nice scenic roads at the beginning but once you get to the trails the passenger will be a liability. There are easy routes but you'll miss 75% of the fun.
