I know this is a very general question. What kind of life are 650R clutch plates and springs good for as a general rule, without any major abuse. General trail riding for the most part. I've ridden the hell out of a '94 XR600 for a few years with not the first clutch problems. I haven't had to do much clutch work. Thanks, Walt :applause: :banghead:

Depends how much you're on the clutch. Try to make a mental note to use the torque vs. the clutch in tight situations and it'll last alot longer.

I've only had my clutch apart once, to install XR'sOnly clutch springs(which I recommend) and after a couple years of riding, the plates looked great...
