Well I Did It I Figured Out Exactly How Many Miles Per Tank Of Gas I Have.
Exactly 53 Miles
I Ran Out Of Gas 5.2 Miles From My Truck In Capitol Forest Yesterday.
Had To Walk Out Of The Woods In My Mx-boots.
Turned My Feet To Hamburger.
53 Miles Divided By 1.8 Gallons Is Roughly 29 Miles Per Gallon Averaging 15.2 Miles Per Hr.
My Buddy Made It Back To Truck With His 98 Cr250 With A 2.0 Gal Tank.
Anybody Else Ever Run Outa Gas And Had To Walk?

When I bought the bike, I rode it around the lot and the first thing I did was get that tank 'cause your rides sound like my rides. We come across little off the beaten path trails and before you know it you are 35 miles into it.

BTW, at 9000feet I know I can go 70 miles on that 2.8....and I prolly had another 5 or 10 miles left till she was dry.

I run out nearly every time I go riding. I'm never more than a mile or two from the truck, though. The way I ride my 426 I figured I get 30 miles out of a 2 gallon tank.

Never ran out of gas on a OHV, couple times on my '92 ZX-7R (No fuel gauge). I did bust my Quad's chain one Easter, pushed it out and missed dinner.

That sucks..... 53 sounds about right, depending upon the riding... on mellow not as technical trails I have been able to get close to sixty (58.4), but that was only once. The next time I went to the same place and tryed it again I ran out about 2 miles from the lodge. :banghead:

I came close to running out of gas up at Capitol. I did run out of the go juice at the Tahuya OHV park. Pushed my bike a little under 5mi back to my truck.

That's why I carry a 1 liter dew bottle of gas in a backpack. Should get you back to the truck, if not, it is a hell of a lot closer. This method has worked numerous times. Although I do think a bigger tank is in the future.
