xr650l carb in a xr650r

hi guys,

<dont laugh now>

but what would happen if a put a xr650l carb into my xr650r

basically im trying to figure out how to increase gas mileage for when i do a long adventure trip or world tour type thing

am i on the right track ? :D

My 650R is getting 50 mpg city, just gear it up, mines 15/45 gearing it's just off idle at 50 mph in 5th. Uncorked, full exhaust, airbox mod, jetted. Cruise is 1/3 throttle 80mph. It's only down a few mpg from my 650l fuel mileage. The (L) CV Carb should help but will reduce throttle response and maybe some hp.

Even a devoted L rider wouldnt reccomend that route...sorry :D

or leave it corked? of course you cant get better then 50 that captb is getting
