I need your guys opinion. I have the opprutunity to get a new bike, but unsure of which year to get. They are both the same price, but 1 is a 05 and the other a 06. The 06 is 250 miles away and would take me a whole day to drive there/pick up/ and return. The 05 is about 75 miles away and would only take a couple hours round trip. I've bought 2 other bikes from the closer dealer, but i don't think I can get him to drop the price any. The dealer that is farther away has a 05 for $500 less the the closer dealer, but I'd be paying close to $75 or more in gas and have to take a day off of work.

So what do you think. Save $450 on an 05 or spend the same amount on on 06, but drive further.

If the price is going to be the same then definitely go with the '06. The closer dealer should be willing to deal on the '05 though. Around here the '05 is closing out for $5600 OTD if you can find one.

closer 05 is $5999
further 05 is $5499
further 06 is $5999 when in stock

I plan on keeping the bike 4-5 years. The closer dealer isn't a high volume dealer like the other, so I really don't think they will come down on price.

Always get the latest one out if you can, higher resale value!
And if they are the same price, there isn't even a decission to be made.

I think its the sales tax and license that adds up. I got mine for $6499 otd buts thats under $6000 if you factor it out.

Go with the '06. It'll be a little eaasier to sell the '06 versus the '05 in a few years
