XR's Only: Friend or Foe????

Recommended Posts

Here is the story.

I ordered a Rear Rack and a Scotts Fork Brace from XRs Only about 5 weeks ago. 3 days later I got a confirmation email that my brace had been shipped, but that the rack was on backorder until september. I replied to the email that I would like to cancel the rack order, since I needed one sooner....never got a response.

When the package arrived 3 days later, the invoice showed (as did my credit card statment) that I had been billed for everything!!! I called and spoke to a guy explaining this (at least I tried to explain this, he was not exactly fluent in english), and he assured me repeatedly that he would cancel that portion of the order, and credit me the money. I assumed he would, alas when I got my bill yesterday, he had not.

So today, I planned to call them as soon as I got home from work to straighten this out. When I got home, lo and behold UPS had delivered the rack.

So now I have a second rack for the pig (I machined my own when they told me it was on backorder).

My question is: Has anyone else had the kind of crappy service from XRs Only? I was under the impression (from friends) that they were a class act. I don't want to knock them, but this has really pushed my buttons.

BTW, anyone need a rack? :D

I have placed two orders from them in the last couple of months, both went well and they had the parts to my door in just a couple of days. Ive had good luck with them, but I can understand your frustration. Hope you have better luck next time.( if there is one) :D

Just before Tumper Talk changed to what it looks like now there was a huge thread ubout how XR's only sucked. The manager was an idiot. I heard they have a different manager but, two of my friends are having problems with them right now getting clutch springs.

Today I spoke to the same guy that had promised cancel my order and credit my card....and he said he HAD. He said there was no record of a shipment, and that the racks are not due for 2 weeks....&%$#@!!!! As far as I am concerned they are Idiots! I could say more, but.....

The one order I've made with XR's Only went allright.

It took about three weeks to recieve my parts, but I wasn't bowed up so no worries.

if they have something I can't find anywhere else, I won't have any problems ordering from them in the future.

I've ordered from the 4 times and had no issues. Some people order from them and have horrible luck. Luck of the draw I guess. Although, when I call you can tell they have horrid cust. service skills. I read my order to them and have them read it back to me word for word.

What bike does it fit? What brand rack?

It was listed on the site as a PRO-BILLET Rack, made to fit the XR 650R. It arrived packaged as an XRs Only rack.

To be honest, I would feel kinda bad selling it. I tried to fit it up to the bike today, what a POS. :D:D

It is not that hard to make a rack, a little competent engineering, a good CNC machine and TAHDAH. However, this is a Rube Goldberg Piece of #@$%.

If you want it let me know, but be warned it is crap.

My girlfriend ordered a rack from their website as a present and days later checked with me if I received it.

I called XR only and spoke to the (a) boss who put me on to Sabrina who explained the racks will not be around for a month or so. She also diligently refunded my girl's visa card.

Except for them taking payment waaaay ahead of shipping :D all was good.

I odered the rack from www.kytechmachine.com for :D C$179.00 and got it 2 days later :D

it is awesome.

I would order from XR's Only. (I feel the need for a stabilizer  )

Ok, now this is wierd. I just recieved a refund chack from XRs Only. I have not sent the rack back, but have been refunded the money....what to do?

you already know what you should do ... you should return the rack, and thank them for accepting responsibility ... to do anything less makes you a thief

I am kinda thinking along the lines of don87 here. I will gladly return the rack, as I have no use for it/think it is a pos. But there is no way in heck that I will pay the shipping. Just the thought of another conversation with them makes the vien in my forehead pop out.

I had bad luck with them as well. I ordered a new flat sid carb, they asked what exhaust, cam, header, elevation, etc. I had on my bike and where I typically ride. They told me they would adjust the floats, and install the proper jetting. NOT EVEN CLOSE!! The one float wasn't even attached, the adjustment was as wide open as it could get, no jets installed (although they send me a couple so I could adjust it, which was cool :D ), and the spring was all goofed up! Oh yeah, the throttle cable doesn't fit properly into the twist throttle. I had to modify that too!! I called and got a sorry, but I was kinda soured on the whole thing. It was supposed to be a bolt on, no hassle affair. Oh well, at least I know my carb inside and out now.
