This is for a friend who doesnt have the internet.

We were riding our bikes on trails a couple weeks ago, when his WR started ticking from the top end area. We had no choice but to ride it out. We got all the way back to the trucks and he took it home.

It started ticking louder and louder through out the ride home. It was puking some sort of watery/oily substance out of the breather hose.

He drained the oil from the frame and it had some wierd crap in it. He said it didnt look like water at all. Not sure what it is. He put new oil in it and rode it up and down the street. It was kind of bogging down and sputtering for about 15 minutes.

It then let out one more cough and now runs normal. Tick is gone even.

Any ideas out there?

another one for the X files by the sounds of it.
A milky substance at the bottom of the breather is normal.

Tell your buddy to also change the spark plug. Maybe the plug is fouled and not firing right.

The white/milky substance coming out the breather hose is what happens when a water based product is mixed/shaken/whipped or aerated with oil. He could have gotten water in the head thru the hose or he could have a leak in the water pump were the coolant is leaking into the case.
