Hey guys just bought 2001 WR250 with a massive DSP exhaust and was wondering what the purpose of exhaust packing is, does it decrease exhaust noise as well as control heat temps or one not the other etc.

thanks

Packing has nothing to do with temps but yes it does reduce the noise considerably. Having it packed tightly lets you have good power throughout the rpm range. The material is non-flammable also.
