Cam chain tension

The service manual really doesn't say, but does the cam chain adjuster take the slack out of cam chain automatically(spring loaded) or does it have to be adjusted by the device on the left rear of cylinder of the yz450? May be a stupid question,but I could swear I hear the cam chain rattling while riding, but I'm used to riding 2 strokes,not as much engine noise. :applause:

Its spring loaded!!! should be thight ubless its streached WAY out.
