If you are concerned about noise, the Dr. D would be the best balance between power and noise. It'll produce similar db's uncorked to some systems WITH quiet core inserts. My HMF system on my 04 YFZ WITH quiet core is louder than a friend's w/ Dr. D system. I believe they rate the uncorked Dr. D system at 98 dbs or so. The Yoshi, FMF powercore, and PC T4 are all going to be 100+ dbs. I'm going to jump all over the Dr. D system before even picking up my 06 WR.

Yeah, most big name pipes now are at 96 dbs but WITH the quiet insert (except Q-series and Type-496) which anyone can attest to, will reduce SOME power. Going with a system that's quiet enough for your riding area without any insert is ideal. I personally love the sound of almost all aftermarket systems on the 450, but some people want to be quieter, even if they're not forced to. Systems like the FMF, PC, and Yoshi are NOT quiet without the quiet insert, so if you want a moderately quiet system without corking it by using an insert, consider something other than those you listed....look into Dr. D. and WB E2.

I can attest to the noise output of the DSP Ti, GYTR carbon and Yoshi systems first hand. They are just plain LOUD! I had a full DSP Ti system on my bike, and it hurt my ears to ride it, rattled my brain pretty good and tired me out. I switched to a WB E-series, which many folks think is loud, and it's just a pleasure compared to the DSP system.

A riding buddy has the GYTR Carbon can, it's sounds so sweet ripping through the forest. It's easier on the ears to the rider than the DSP was, but you DO NOT want to follow too close behind, especially in a tunnel. It's real damn loud, and will piss of any sensitive land owners.

I've had to order a quiet insert so I can do some of the organized dual sport rides around here. If you are going to ride enduro, hare scrambles or organized DS rides, you are going to need a quiet exhaust.

I can't comment on any performance loss from the quiet insert yet as I don't have the part.

I have the Pro Circut T-4 on my 05. Yes it is loud with a substantial increase in HP, but the power increase seems to be mainly around mid to high range. If you want a pipe with more grunt on the bottom end I wouldn't recomend the T-4. I have changed the jetting to just about every setting possible and it still seems a little blubbery on the bottom.

I know its not on your list, but they're worth a look.

Build quality is awesome, power increases, and you don't have to repack them which I love.

They also come with an insert you can remove if you wish, which does made a fair bit of difference.

i have had excellent results with the fmf.im sure there all good but if the fmf is the cheapest i would def. go with that.

Yeah, that's the only down side. They are strong though.

I bought the FMF Powercore4 for about $235 from Rocky Mt MC and the quiet core insert for about $30, I had it measured by the forest service and it was at 94 db. I had the stocker with the PMB insert before. A huge increase in power and a huge reduction in weight. The stocker is heavy! Without the quiet insert, I'd guess the PC4 is over 102 db.

Anyone use or know about the Dr. D exhaust system. I like the way they have their packing. i heard its good from low to mid. 05 WR450

You also have to look at what kind of riding you do.

Some pipes are made for mid to high range, others for low end grunt.

I had a FMF powercore 4 seemed like it was more for top end.

I'm presently using a White Brothers S bend and I'm very happy with it, lots of lowend grunt for tight trails.

Also got it on Ebay new in the box 105.00!!

Ive got the DR D system on my 05 WR450.the fit is excellent,price was good compared to the other brands a few you mentioned.Performance it woke the bottom up&the midrange really pulls hard the top saw little improvement.If you still have the AIS system on your bike remove it,your aftermarket pipe will backfire&pop alot when you roll out of the throttle..Amazing diff with this removed as long as your not in California..
