yz450 front brake mastercylinder on ttr125?

heyy a guy on ebay selling a ttr125 put a yz450f front brake master cylinder on a ttr125 with yz 80 brake line and calipar i was wondering with that front master cylinder will it make the bike stop faster and better?

The m/c won't make as much of a difference as the line, if the YZ 80 line is a stainless steel line instead of a rubber one it will improve the brake action.

I'm no engineer, but yes I would think the YZF cylinder would apply more force. :applause:

And yes, a stainless line will apply more force (it won't expand).

It might not. The force is based on the size of the piston and the stroke in the mastercylinder. The TTR could have a mastercylinder that put out more force than the YZ model.

You're right. It's actually based in part on the area of the master cylinder and the force applied by the lever, and on the relative size of the master cylinder piston and the total area of the caliper pistons. If the TT-R M/C was 1/8 the size of the combined caliper pistons, it would have an 8:1 advantage. The YZ uses a bigger caliper, and may well have a larger M/C to go with it, which would fill the TT-R caliper faster, but would not apply as much force, assuming the lever dimensions were about the same.
