I went riding at Mototown with my buddy who sold me my 426 the other day. He always complained about how hard the 426 is to start. I never had a problem. I can always start it within 2-3 kicks from cold or 1-2 when hot.

He let me take his yz250f out for a few laps and when I got back he said he thought about taking the 426 out for a few laps but couldn't start it.

I will say it took me like 4-5 kicks to start it after his attempt! I wonder what he's doing wrong.

Talk about digging up an old thread!

2000 426. Rebuilt everything above the con rod winter 2007. Still as strong as brand new.

I bet hes giving a little twist of throttle as he kicks, thereby flooding it for you. What a pal!

01 426
plated for the street
gutted exhaust
rollin on kenda 761s as of now
i usually kick it a couple times with the decomp. lever in when its cold out (under 40 degrees or so) then it always fires first or second kick.... Always.
seems to foul plugs if you dont rev it a few times when first started, but thats only like once a month that i gotta throw a new one in it.
runnin 16-42 gearing and it still power wheelies through second gear
i couldnt ask for anything more with this bike cept for maybe a more comfy seat.
also, im runnin a 4 gal. (i think) tank that seems to help sturdy up the steering a bit when its full.
I thought this motor would be toast after my first few trips on the road but its holdin up llike a tank

Damm...I'm running a 15/45 on my bike. They make a 16 sprocket? Your bike gotta be hit'n 100mph! Am I right?

im not really sure what kinda mph im hittin yet lol. still havent got a speedo. trail tech vapor speedo should be here on wednesday and then ill know for sure. Im pretty excited to see what kind of speeds im running seeing that i havent had a speedometer since i got the bike lol. been puttin it off. Once i get it all set up ill post up here what its runnin.

I aint really sure where the 16t sprocket came from , but ill try to scrape the sludge off it and see if theres a brand. It was in a box o' parts that came with the bike. I took a 15 off it to go with the 16 for the street and it's amazing
