The manual for the BRP says that if the mechanical seal in the water pump goes out, replace the whole water pump assembly.

Does anybody know why you would do that?

Cant you just change the seals?

My WR pumps seal goes out all the time, so I was just looking into it. Mine is still fine.

If the seal goes out , the bearings are probly worn out,IMO its a safe bet to replace the whole water pump........ :)

I agree with frankstr. Better to be safe than sorry. Plus you can replace the impeller with an aftermarket one to free up some power and better cooling capability.
