white bros E series on my 650r

Recommended Posts

just bought a new white bros E series S bend muffler for my 650r off ebay. i got it for $120 so i will try it anyway , but i was wondering if anyone here has tried it and what they thought of it? my bike is uncorked with a 165 main and a 68s pilot i am at sea level so i set my bike up as rich as recomended for uncorking and it seems fine until i get way up in the mountains its a little hard to start. if anyone has one of these cans how much did you richen your bike?

Thanx

sorry my main is a 175

FFEEWWWW... I was like, way LEAN man! They're louder and produce a decent punch in the lower end to midrange. I think the biggest thing you'll notice is the weight savings and sound.

In a magazine pipe shootout a few years ago, I recall the WB E series slip on was the only exhaust to slightly increase the power everywhere as opposed to the other aftermarket systems, some of which actually lost power compared to the stock system with HRC tip. There was also another guy on this board years ago who bought every exhaust system he could get his hands on and sold them all off afterwards and kept the WB E series as his personal choice for durability, tunability and overall performance for 'his' riding needs.

I would guess some of those exhaust systems that didn't test so well years ago may have improved over the years as things are continually changing in this industry, but the WB E series is still probably a very good choice ?

I installed the white Bro E pipe on my pig right after bought it. The bike is alot louder with the pipe but well worth it. As for the weight savings, the stock pipe is build for a tank. I say by putting on the E you are taking off half the weight of the stock pipe. If you haven't put the bigger intake on it you should. With the bigger pipe the motor wants to take in more air. Max ?

I have the E-series also. It made a huge difference. I think I only rode the bike once in stock form. To be honest, my XR has been in the shed for about 2 years now so I couldnt tell you what my jetting is.

I am just now taking an interest in riding again. I'll be pulling it out and probably pulling the carb off to clean it. I'll record what jets I'm using.

I also think I added some plates to the pipe as well.

you know, you can richen up your bike just by taking disc out of the muffler( it is tunable). The less amount of disc the richer it gets.

Big Red....

I pulled my carb off last night to clean it and while it was apart I recorded my jetting:

Pilot: 68

Main: 175

Slide: J3B

Needle: 53D

Clip: 4th Position (from top)

I'm running 11 plates on the E-series, PLUS the block off plate.

Hey sixdoubleo thanx for that! I am running the same jetting but when doing my uncorking i raised my needle to the #2 position. i am at sea level and with a 175 main a 68s pilot and my needle in the #2 position and i think my bike is running near perfectly. i don't know your altitude but you should check with some guy's here and see if your needle is in the rite spot

Thanx

I am in Sacramento California which is at about 100ft elevation. I do my riding at about 800-1000ft elevation. I agree that my needle might be too low, causing too rich of a mixture. I think when I last rode, I was still playing with the jetting. I'm going out Sunday so maybe I'll try dropping it.
