You will love that 426. I still have my '00 and love it. I also have an '03 450 and love it also. The 426 is heavier than the 450 and it is way obvious when you have them side by side. Howver it is tough to tell the difference while riding. As far as handling goes, the 426 will ALWAYS carve a tighter corner than the 450. The 450 handles like a pig. Power wise, the 450 has more but the 426 has a wider, nicer powerband. You can chug way down low and it revs farther than the 450. Just my two cents worth.

Where do you live? Because where you live can change the prices of bikes. I live in Texas and I paid 3250 for my '02 and it's probably one of the nicer ones I could've gotten. I could've gotten one of the same year for 2900, but it was worn down quite a bit more. Also the guy kept notes of when he changed the oil and did suspension work, etc. on mine. That's why I got it. You should check and see if he kept a record of what he's done to the bike.Anyway...I thought that might help. Again, good luck with whatever you get :)

Its hard to tell from that pic, but looking at the frame the paint looks warn down to the metal. No big deal, but there is no way this would happen in 10 hours of use. It may be the photo but the Air box looks all rubbed as well. Not big issues but just highlighting that its hard to believe that its done no more than 10 hours. Especially been a 2002 model.

I envy your pricing!!
CALI pricing is WAY higher!
The Green v. Red sticker issue has driven up the price of 2002 bikes (last year for green sticker) A well maintained 2002 426 could go for close to $4k.

Man I love my 01. Its been great.

You'll lose more money on the 450 in the next few years than you will w/ the 426.

If you roll em backwards they do that pretty easily. It's like paper thin.

That pick looks to me like the DAY is was purchased.
