Carb after uncorking

Recommended Posts

I finished all the uncorking of my 650R last week when I put the new jets in the carb. Starts easier now and runs cooler BUT in 2nd and 3rd gear under a load it has a bad stumble about half way thru throttle range in these gears and Its definatly running rich..In first gear when you hit the throttle the front end comes up and its all you can do to hang on, hit second and it stumbles but gets better, hit third and it acts like its gonna die. I put in the new intake manifold ring, 68S, and a 170 jet with the needle in the 3rd position. I didnt replace the needle which after the fact I think I should have, It still has the stock one. Should I replace that and try again or should I go up or down on the 170 jet?

Get a 175 and 68s try the needle in the third position first. Have you opened up the airbox ie taken out the rubber piece and the plastic blank? ?

Oh yea that was done within the first week of buying the bike...Even that little mod made a difference :D
