purchased for $700 not running
new top end gasket set and cdi then boom ready to go

since this pic we've painted the rear fender black, added an LED tail light
and replaced the paper valve cover gasket blew out with the OEM metal one

I can see it not running cause of the CDI but why the top end gasket set?

the bike had been sitting for approx 5 years before he bought it

i figured it'd be nice to go in and put some oil on the walls of the cylinder, rings, tappets, cam etc before initial start up

Oh my thats not too good, just a bad landing on a sharp rock? Im surprised the case was low enough to the ground to do that.
