XR650L- Best Bike in the world-

Recommended Posts

I love the "R" and it's THE bike to have in Mexico. That's why I've been visiting this forum for the last few years. But it seems like all the "serious" desert riders have slowly drifted away... it's a pity. Some I've ridden with, some I've met along the way, some I've had a great deal of respect for...

I know the newbies and the weekend trail riders need a place to socialize and learn the sport... but it sure would be nice to have a hard-core desert forum - sort of like this one used to be.

Times they are a changin'...

Great knew a Troll would come along sometime didn't figure it would be a newb though. 2 weeks on a bike and all of a sudden he's an expert. :D If he thinks that the L is just a commuter bike I like to see him ride with TC (BTW That means Tourture Chambers) on the bike of his choice and TC on his L. I'll take that crap from Quad and BWB and Jack, they can outride me on anything. My L, love it and it will go anywhere. Sometimes just very slowly, but that's mostly my fault. ? Oh and BTW STFU newbie. :D

I guess I would be a little defensive too, especially if I admitted to riding and owning an "L". It's OK I understand. This thread reminds of the guys who talk about how big of peter they have in their shorts. Just a tad short of adequate.......?

where are those threads located, in the "R" forums?, that's really gay dude ?, guess that's what happens when you spend most of your time trailering an oil bu"R"ner behind your gay bay ars all day. :D

The last year Honda made the XL designation was 1987 as the XL600R. After that Honda introduced a new dula purpose line in place of the XL with a NX designation, available in two displacement categories 250 and 650. Sales of those bikes failed miserably. Honda recouped it's losses by placing the NX650 motor into a XR600 frame in 1993 and wa-la the XR650L. It has remained pretty much unchanged since it's introduction. The XR650 motor is essentially the XL600R motor with electric start and 50cc more displacement - it appears - I am sure there are internal differences too. But the technology is essentially the same - making it virtually bulletproof. Why change a good thing?

Why are you thinking of other men's peters??? ?:D

Well that's an excellent question, my parachute packin pal. I am trying to keep the feminine estrogen filled nature of this thread alive. I didn't want to bring too much testosterone in here and frighten you "L" guys. Anyway, I will be riding about 400 miles down South of Tecate next weekend. I will let you know how many "L"'s I see down there. Oh wait a minute..... I will be passing a few Starbucks on my way down.......I'll honk when I see you guys. By the way I have heard that mocha frappachino's will stain an "L" seat cover. Dammit, be careful!

Why is that a newb on a newb bike (XR650R) insults the whole line of XR's? The XR650R is the only water cooled XR/XL. If it weren't for the success ot the AIR COOLED XR600R there would not be your XR650R. If you were riding a Harley, you would be the guy who wouldn't wave back. Thanks for adding your estrogen newb. I can tell you bought your R to compensate ?

Take your time "L" guys and do not rush your response....you want to get a "good" one in here. But I do understand the long delay, you "L" guys aren't used to doing anything quickly.
Can D36 Transplant come out and play? ?

Don't stop bashing it out....this is just starting to get fun ?

But, on for a side line can we post pictures of "L's" at there best? :D Keeping it possitive of course! Wheelies, hill climbs, jumps :D:D

It would be great if one of you guy's with an "L" can ride a wheely holding a starbucks capachino in one hand! That would shut the "R" crowd up ?

Here you go. The L at it's best. TC in TC land, for the newbs the guy taking these pics is riding an L :worthy:

TC in TC land
