Might as well have a cr500 for your first dirt bike. Almost the same as having a r1 as your first street bike.

I have to agree. R1's are fast. I'd get the R6. I had been riding dirt bikes for 4 years before I rode an R1. Oh my god. I was in 4th at 4000rpm, going about 50 or 60...I ripped it and rode the wheely all the way to about 100. Fun as shit but it scared the hell out of me. I rode a 2001 R6 a few weeks back. it was still fast as hell with a redline of about 13000. It was way more managable than the R1, and funner to ride for me, the beggining crotch rocket rider. Just my 2 cents. ?

I agree i have a2003 r6 and 2005 yz450f and i will always choose to ride the 450 on the dirt then the r6 on the street.
