Crankcase venting...

On a 98 xr600rw should u be able to feel a definate pulse of air coming out of the smaller of the 2 venting tubes or is this a sign that the compression is leaking past the rings?? It has just been rebored, new piston, rings, refaced valves, cam chain, gaskets and it's still smoking! Help please!! :)

The pulse of air is normal, the smoking, not normal...... :)

I just had a big bore done to my Xr600/628 now 640 and it took about 80 miles of hard dirt road riding (no sand washes)to set the ring.good luck.
