gettin a headache!!!!

Recommended Posts

1st of I'd like to sya thank for this great site!!! :naughty:

But now comes the new guy question. :naughty: I just bought a WR 450 last week I have been readin threads here and doin all the free mods, last 2 I am doin are snorkel on air box and I'm takin out baffle on exhaust to let her breathe. My question is, will it hurt to run it this way w/out rejetting. I know I should but my budget won't allow for it at this time. I want to get a JD kit but then I don't cause the temp and humidty can vary so much from day to day here that I feel I will be spending more time tryin to get it right then actually riding. any suggestions thx

I don't know if it will hurt or not if you don't rejet but you will get much better performance if it is jetted properly. You don't need to spend much at all. Basically you only really need a few jets at a few dollard a piece. You can do a search on this site to get an idea of what jets would work best for your elevation and temperature. I will say though that the JD kit makes things really easy. Good-luck.

Matt

Whats your elevation and temp? You might be able to get by inexpensively.

If you want performance you want to use all the right jets.

If you just want to not hurt your bike by running lean, just stick a big main in (mine came with a 175 in the spares) and go ride it.

If your exhaust innards get progressively filthier, you are good.

and my future posts will be better and not so vague!! (1st one)

thx again all
