The Header I use is a FMF HI-FLO stainless steel made.

I also tried a FMF Power-bomb, but the Bomb part was too closed to the crankcase.

With the Yosh, it runs well but a little bit too loud :naughty:

Yes, it's a Monnier tank but I don't like their shrouds. Put the CRF450 02-04 model with some minor mods.

Monnier provide also the MX style rear fender made in fiber glass (a little bit expensive but... :naughty: )

FMF Hi-Flo eh?

How did it match up to the Yoshimura? Did you have to bend, tweak or weld anything to make it fit right?

You can quiet that Yosh down when you need to with their "Tec Kit"...

Yes, the HIFLO fits well. On mine, no problem. A friend of mine got the same header but it's diameter was slightly smaller  . The issue was fixed with aluminium tape in order to fit the inside diameter of the Yosh

With the PowerBomb, be careful, the Bomb part leaves less than 1mm before touching the crankcase.

For the Tec-Kit, I know but this kit is not distributed in Europe   We can get a lot of US accessories but not this one. But on my next trip in Austin, will get back this Kit

CRF tank on a Xr650R. How many miles can you get out of a tank? Obviously that is not important if it is a SM. Just curious...:)

I can honestly recommend the Hot Cams stage II cam and edelbrock carb combination, above 4000 RPM its kind of like hitting the light speed button.
It clears the mind and clarifies priorities, suddenly you are going one hundred miles per hour, looking behind you there is an immense cloud of dust, an insane vibration releases special chemicals in your brain, there is a terrible roar like a pride of lions within a cave.

and thats with the stock piston at five thousand feet elevation

It hides its weight real good..... :)
:ride:

How does it feel like in comparison to an XR 400? Does it carry its weight better or worse?
