2001 426 head seal

took off the cylender head recently on my 01 426 ..and was wondering if that rubber seal is good just to put back on....or does it need a sealent ?

p.s. just got bike a few months ago

If your talking about the valve cover seal, then no I wouldn't put silicone on it. I have had mine off several times and reused the rubber gasket with no silicone and have never had a leak.

No sealant. Especially no silicone sealant. You'll actually encourage a leak using that. As long as the gasket stays in place well enough to go into position properly, use nothing else.
