Which tank is better for an 05 wr450. I used a IMS desert tank on my 99 wr400. I am picking up a 05 today. I need a 3 gallon tank. I heard that IMS tanks are not the best anymore.

I have a Clarke 2.8 gal on my 05 and like it alot, I bout the acrebis 3.2 model and found the craftsmanship to be great but I didn't like then look of it very much.

Look at my signature and look up my website to find out what the Clarke 2.8 looks like.

I bout an IMS and sent it back 30 minutes after receiving it because it was nothing but JUNK.

Good luck.

I just put an IMS 3.4 Gallon Tank on my '05. It fits very nice. The only problem I see is that the fuel line on the right side is very close to the exhaust pipe. Going to put some heat tape around it to protect it. Seat fits great, stock shrouds fit. My Works Connection radiator braces are gone now, they won't fit with the larger tank. :naughty:

I have the Acerbis on my '05 and it fits fine. I have Unabiker rad guards and I had to enlarge the mounting holes on the rear portion to allow for the tank. Other than that, no problems...SC

I also recently put an IMS 3.4 Gallon Tank (3.1 model) on my '05. It fits very nice and there's no real problem with the fuel lines. I have Devol radiator guards, with no fit problems I'm aware of (shop installed tho).
