quick shock question

my buddy has an '02 450 with race tech valving in the rear shock. He just bought an '04. Would it be better to replace the stock '04 shock with the modified '02, or were there changes to the '04 shock that would negate any advantages?

I believe you can use the shock, but you'll most likely need to re-valve the shock since it was tuned for a YZ-426 and different rider. If you can find out what the valving rates are, you can contact RT and find out whether it's comparable to your weight and bike.
