A friend is trying to install its original YZ400f petcock on an IMS fuel tank but it leaks at the joint. The tank seems to be ok and the petcock was working OK on his original fuel tank. Is there something we should check at. Any tips? Thanks!

I've ran into this a couple of times. An easy solution is to pry the rubber gasket out of a garden hose if you've got 1 laying around. It will compress nicely between the petcock and the tank and will not leak.

You can find them at any hardware store for less than a quarter.
