. I am 5'9" and weigh around 160. The kx is used primarily for trail and aggressive hill climbing. I am looking at either going with a crf450 or xr400. I am looking for more reliability but don't want to sacrifice the power that I am used to either. What do you guys recommend? Also, what year would be best overall.

I currently own a 1991 kx250 and am thinking about coming over to the dark side . I am 5'9" and weigh around 160. The kx is used primarily for trail and aggressive hill climbing. high perfomance reliability is the way to go. go for the 450. riding a 400 is like buying a old used car.

there is no comparison between the xr400 and the crf450. Totaly different animals.
