YZ426 frustration, Dirty carb??

Recommended Posts

Dont use the kill switch when turning it over with the decomp lever pulled, it wont start anyway. No compression, no starting. I would hesitate to twist the throttle on the 2000 model before kicking until you learn the bike. The 2000 was known for an oversized accelerator pump shot, hence the BK mod cure. Sounds like it was the usual culprit, dirt.

How much difference does the EPJ needle make?? Anyone have it?? As for the BK mod for stumble down low I swear that I have seen none of it.. I even tried to make it happen by idling around in first and stabbing the throttle. I can only assume that the P-38 accompanied by the pipe?? make the difference. ?

There is more than one way to reduce or eliminate the bog. Jetting if spot on, different accelerator pump diaphragms, pilots etc. If your combo works dont change it. I still dont go for twisting the throttle before kicking it.
