Hot cam

I need a new cam to my XR600. (the old one is nearly 30 mm wide over the knockles, service limit is 31mm)

So, is a Hot Cam a good alternativ? How will the curve off effect change? Will it increase the need of service/ the wear much? The problem is that my bike have gone pretty much, 36000 km...
